Talking about MET GALA 2020
El evento de moda más esperado está por llegar, y acaban de anunciar el tema del año que viene… “About time, fashion and duration”, o “Tiempo, moda y su permanencia”.
The Met Gala is a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. La gala se llena de artistas, celebridades y personalidades icónicas del mundo de la moda. It really is a MUST to watch, the excitement is pure and the creativity of the costumes go beyond imagination. This year they celebrate the museum's 150th anniversary, (reason for the theme)…The exhibit will have fashion since the 1870s, commemorating time and fashion.
Andrew Bolton, the mastermind behind the gala, tomó como referencias tres grandes obras de Virginia Woolf que hablan del paso del tiempo para inspiración de la exhibición;
Seen on Vogue...Bolton says “There’s a wonderful scene, in which Tilda Swinton enters the maze in an 18th-century woman’s robe à la Francaise, and as she runs through it, her clothes change to mid-19th-century dress, and she reemerges in 1850s England. That’s where the original idea came from.” El enfoque viene siendo cómo la moda perdura, como se mantiene... fashion is present.
El Met Gala es el primer lunes de Mayo y de co-anfitriones estarán Nicolas Ghesquière, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, y Anna Wintour. La exhibición estará desde el 7 de mayo al 7 de Septiembre 2020.
